Running Strong operates a field office in Eagle Butte on the Cheyenne River Sioux Reservation.
The Running Strong Cheyenne River field office is run by Julie Garreau (Cheyenne River Lakota). Julie worked at the Cheyenne River Sioux Tribe's Office of Higher Education before devoting herself full-time to the Cheyenne River Youth Project® more than a decade ago.
She is both Executive Director of Cheyenne River Youth Project® and a Running Strong field coordinator who makes on-site visits to other reservation programs funded or run by Running Strong for American Indian Youth®.
Julie has received numerous honors, including the 1991 State of Dakota Volunteer of the Year, being named a Presidential Point of Light by President George H. Bush in 1992, and the Father Hogebach Public Service to Native American Children Award in 1994.
