DISTRICT OF COLUMBIA

Running Strong for American Indian Youth®According to the American Indian College Fund, “many American Indian students feel ambivalent toward mainstream higher education due to the difficult experiences many faced in primary and secondary levels, which often make native culture invisible.”

Often Native American children push aside their traditional ways and beliefs for mainstream culture.

Running Strong for American Indian Youth® believes that through cultural education, children will be able to both celebrate their traditional culture and ensure its continuation in the future.

Programs we support in the District of Columbia:
Smithsonian Museum of the National American Indian
