JOB TITLE: Intern
Running Strong for American Indian Youth® is a national nonprofit organization serving American Indian communities throughout the United States.
Our mission is to help American Indian families meet their immediate survival needs – food, water and shelter – while identifying and supporting programs to encourage self-sufficiency and self-esteem, particularly for Native youth.
Working with National Spokesperson and Olympic Champion Billy Mills, staff in the field, organization affiliates, and local community leaders, we are building a new generation of leaders among today’s Indian youth.
Intern/s will work with the Running Strong program/project staff on various aspects of the grant making process, event planning/logistics, marketing/media and program coordination.
Duties: include research and fact finding, database update and check log maintenance, filing/archiving, telephones, general correspondence, mailing preparation, online store development/maintenance/fulfillment, distribution of press releases, and other duties as assigned.
Skills: MS Office proficiency, especially Word, Excel, Access.
Knowledge of and experience with American Indian communities a plus.
Hours are negotiable. Start date is 6/03/08.
