The Intertribal Gathering at Fort Robinson State Park is an annual meeting of over 750 Native Americans from Montana, Nebraska, New Mexico, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Wyoming.
The gathering is a family event, where people of all ages come together to share in the community spirit and traditional values.
Some of the events that occur at the Intertribal Gathering include: • traditional drumming competitions • singing and dancing in Native traditional dress • vendors featuring American Indian made arts and crafts • 5 K-run to promote healthy lifestyles.
The Gathering includes activities such Native American song and dance because these activities help keep native cultures alive and thriving, while also promoting intertribal communication.
