Billy Mills-Running Strong for American Indian Youth® Scholarship

Billy MillsProject: Billy Mills-Running Strong for American Indian Youth® Scholarship
Organization: University of Kansas
Year: 2003-Present
Location: Kansas

Running Strong created the Billy Mills Running Strong for American Indian Youth® Scholarship at the University of Kansas, Running Strong's National Spokesperson Billy Mills's alma mater, to support American Indian students who want to become teachers.

The scholarship is available to American Indian students at the University of Kansas for its Program for Recruitment and Retention of Multi-Ethnic Educators -or PRiME- in the School of Education.

"I'm proud today to be able to give back to the University of Kansas to help the next generation of educators achieve their dreams," says Billy Mills. "Our hope is that the recipients of this scholarship will give back to their communities as teachers."

Running Strong endowed the scholarship and offers annual support.
