Girls learn weaving at a Native American Youth Enrichment Summer Camp. The Census Bureau’s Poverty in the United States for 2000 indicates that American Indians and Alaskan Natives are at the bottom levels of economic ranking. The poverty experienced by many American Indians prevents families from utilizing the minimal resources available to them.

Running Strong strives to offer American Indian youth opportunities for academic enrichment and cultural education.
