NORTH DAKOTA

The U.S. Census defines poverty as an individual earning less than $9, 973 a year, or a family of four earning less than $19,971. American Indians have the highest poverty rate of any ethnic group in America.

Though this daunting statistic is echoed in the communities that we work with, Running Strong supports programs that create opportunities for Indian people to gain self-sufficiency.
