Our Work

MORE THAN RUNNERS
The name Running Strong for American Indian Youth® was inspired by our National Spokesperson, Olympic Gold Medalist, Billy Mills.

In his youth Billy Mills was only a runner, but these days the title humanitarian warrior is more fitting. Since he won his gold medal in 1964, Billy Mills has traveled the country to promote opportunity, hope, dignity, and pride among American Indian Youth.

Now, as Billy’s organization, we are his legs and are carrying out the work that he started over forty years ago.
