SCHOOL SUPPLIES
Help American Indian kids start the school year right!During these tough economic times, American Indian families across the country are having trouble saving that extra money for school supplies for their children.

Running Strong knows that new school supplies are necessary for kids to succeed and help little ones get excited for the school year.

Each year, Running Strong distributes 1,200 backpacks full of school supplies to kids on the:

• Cheyenne River Sioux Indian Reservation, South Dakota
• Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, South Dakota
• Crow Indian Reservation, Montana

Without basic supplies, children cannot start the school year off right, but for many American Indian families other priorities like food need to come first.

GIVE A GIFT TODAY AND HELP US SHOW THESE TINY SCHOLARS HOW MUCH WE BELIEVE IN THEM!

Each brand new backpack is filled with:
paper crayons
erasers glue
notebooks pencils
pens rulers
pencil sharpeners scissors

“We give the children incentives to strive for good grades in school. If they bring us their report card with an ‘A,’ they can pick out an item from the thrift store. You’d think the kids would pick out a toy, but you’d be surprised how many choose shoes, backpacks or school supplies.”
- Susan,
Center Pole staff member (Crow Reservation)
