The Smithsonian National Museum of the American Indian opened in 2004. The Museum is located on the National Mall and celebrates contemporary and historic Indigenous cultures of the western hemisphere.
In 2004, Running Strong for American Indian Youth® made a five year commitment for general support to the Museum.
Running Strong also underwrote a grant to support the Oglala Lakota gallery in the Our Peoples exhibition.
If you visit the museum, look for Running Strong’s name: • inscribed on the outside wall near the main entrance • at the Oglala Lakota exhibit in the Our Peoples Gallery
Running Strong is proud to support the Smithsonian’s efforts to portray the richness and vitality of native cultures across the Americas.
