Q: What is Team Running Strong?
A: Team Running Strong is a marathon team that supports the charity Running Strong for American Indian Youth®.
In 2004, the Marine Corps Marathon™ chose Billy Mills, an Olympic Gold Medalist and Running Strong’s National Spokesperson, as their official starter and Team Running Strong was born.
Each year since, runners and walkers from all over the country have come together to raise funds and awareness about the great need in American Indian communities throughout the US.

Q: Why should I run with a charity team?
A: Many of the poorest counties in the US are located on Indian Reservations, and families in these areas often lack access to valuable resources including clean drinking water, healthy foods, adequate health care, and proper housing.
By joining Team Running Strong you will not only experience the satisfaction of completing a marathon, but you will do it knowing you are creating a brighter future for children growing up in Indian Country.
Team Running Strong also offers special perks such as:
• a guaranteed spot in the Marine Corps Marathon™ • an optional 26 week training program through DC Fit • a chance to meet our National Spokesman, Olympic Gold Medalist Billy Mills • the camaraderie that comes with knowing you are running strong for a great cause.
