Todd County Summer Recreation Program |
Todd County Recreation camps provide safe activities for youth on the Rosebud Reservation during the summer. Project: Summer Youth Programs Organization: Todd County Year: 1999-Present Tribe: Sicangu Lakota Reservation: Rosebud Reservation Location: Mission, SD
The Todd County Summer Recreation Program is held from the beginning of June until the end of July on the Rosebud Sioux Reservation in South Dakota.
The program strives to provide healthy activities for low-income youth on the Rosebud Reservation who would otherwise go unsupervised during their summer months without school. This prevents Rosebud youth from becoming involved in drugs, alcohol, gangs, or vandalism.
The Todd County Summer Recreation Program offers activities such as basketball, volleyball, track races, golf lessons, and football to over 800 children and teens.
Running Strong provided general support for the Summer Recreation Program.
