BACK TO SCHOOL ON THE RESERVATIONS |
A little boy on the Crow Reservation with his Running Strong backpack in 2008. On reservations across the US, far fewer American Indian students enroll in school than students in the general population and graduation rates are much lower too.
You can HELP US make sure that over 2,000 American Indian children start the year off right! American Indian families that are struggling to feed and clothe their children during the school year do not have any money left over to spend on the school supplies and books that their children need.
With many public schools under-funded on the reservations, there are not many extra school supplies to go around for these children.
Running Strong remembers how important a new backpack and the right supplies were to starting the school year off right.
To show these children how important an education is and how much we believe in them, Running Strong is providing backpacks full of pencils, pens, paper, and other supplies to children in 6 states.
