American Indian youth are fighting a silent battle, where basic amenities like food, safe housing, heat in the winter, and warm clothing are never guaranteed.
Often, American Indian children are overwhelmed by feelings of hopelessness and cultural isolation by the time they reach their teenage years.
On reservations across the United States, school dropout rates, drug and alcohol abuse, and teen suicide rates are soaring.
Running Strong believes that by working with local communities, we can provide safe nurturing spaces full of healthy activities for American Indian children and teens.
With your support, Running Strong is working to create a new generation of American leaders who demonstrate healthy lifestyles and pride in their heritage.
Running Strong works with and supports these grassroots youth initiatives throughout the country, ranging from youth centers and scholarships to cultural summer camps.
